STANDARD CUSTOMIZED TAN

IMPORTANT PRE | POST SPRAY TAN INFO

PREP/BEFORE SPRAY TAN

  • exfoliate 2 days before appt & again night before for best results

  • ​use an exfoliating mitt/glove/sponge (a loofah or rag does NOT exfoliate your skin)

  • do NOT use an exfoliating scrub ie. Tree Hut - will leave residue on skin - no scrubs​

  • shave day before appt, no sooner

  • any waxing (2 days before), nails, pedicure, facial, massage, lash, brows day before spray tan appt

  • clean bare skin day of appt - no deodorant, perfumes, lotions, make up etc. 

  • avoid use of actives/harsh products (ie. acne meds, retinols) on face 24-48 hrs before

  • no Dove/Olay body wash use before or after tan

  • gel body wash over bar soap or creamy based body wash

  • if you must shower before appt, RINSE ONLY - no soap & do so  no less than 4 hrs before appt and end with cool water

  • moisturize any dry areas well the week leading up to your appt

  • wash your hair night before appt as you will want to avoid washing day after spray

  • you must wear loose fitting darker clothes after spray tan, long pants AND long sleeves

  • must wear said clothes UNTIL initial rinse this includes to sleep in

  • slip ons/sandals okay to wear unless it is raining

  • if it is to rain for your appt you must wear clothes to fully cover yourself head to toe & bring umbrella 

  • do not get sunburn the coming weeks/days before your appt - it will affect development of tan in those areas and could be patchy 

AFTER SPRAY TAN

  • you must wear loose pants and long sleeves until initial rinse to avoid skin to skin contact - esp to sleep

  • do not get wet at all anywhere until initial rinse

  • avoid sweating

  • avoid touching yourself as the spray tan will transfer to your hands

  • rinse at designated time with lukewarm water - you are only rinsing the spray tan off - no soap

  • rinse until the water runs clearsand help remove bronzers by gently rubbing skin in circular motions

  • pat yourself dry with towel - do not rub

  • moisturize with spray tan safe lotion if skin visibly looks dry otherwise wait til 24 hr mark

  • you may take a "normal" shower with spray tan safe body wash 20-24 hrs after you were sprayed (but avoid washing hair if able)

TAN MAINTENANCE​

  • ​avoid excessive sweating, long hot showers, extended periods of time in pools, ocean, hot tub

  • tight restrictive clothing + sweating = tan will start to fade

  • shaving, exfoliating of any kind, loofahs will fade tan

  • wash body with hands, no loofahs or wash rags except for pits & privates

  • pat yourself dry after you shower, do not rub

  • moisturize 2x daily with spray tan safe lotion - this will extend the life of your tan

    • Aveeno, Native, Hempz, Cetaphil, Raw Sugar, Vanicream, Cera ve

  • evening of day 3 post tan you may begin to use a gradual tanning lotion (not Jergens)

  • use spray tan safe body wash only

    • Aveeno, Method, Raw Sugar, Cetaphil​

  • no bar soap, Dove, Olay

  • stay hydrated!!!

  • length of tan will depend on products used & how well you take care of it
